Cancer Survivors Circle of Strength of Arizona is a volunteer community. We are cancer survivors, caregivers, and others who have been touched by our cancer journeys. Volunteering together creates a sense of community further strengthened by regular volunteer meetings and social events.
Circle of Strength members volunteer with partner organizations who provide medical and human services to people with cancer. A Circle of Strength member volunteer might provide peer support or event support or organization support. Whatever the volunteer activity, our volunteers bring their experiences, skills, abilities and the belief that others will benefit from our cancer journeys.
Cancer Survivors Circle of Strength of Arizona (AZCSCS) was founded by cancer survivors who recognized the value of peer support and the value for survivors to have the opportunity to “pay it forward”. Planning culminated in AZCSCS becoming a sponsored project of the Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona (TAPAZ), a 501 (c) (3) organization. In October 2015, AZCSCS began formalizing partnerships with Cancer related organizations and recruiting and placing volunteers.
The Circle of Strength Advisory Board consists of cancer survivors, caregivers, and people who have worked in the cancer field. They all have been and are passionate volunteers.
